Cookies

Who does not love cookies? So many different kinds to choose from. Do you like them soft or hard? I like mine soft and chewy. I made snickerdoodles this time. Love them.

The cookie reaches back as far as the 7th century, where chefs would take small amounts of batter and cook it off to see what the temperature of the ovens were, due to not having thermostats. They were called koekje, which means “little cake” in Dutch. They quickly turned into a dessert of their own. By the 14th century, they were common in almost every culture. The cookie, finally came to the America’s in 1703.

The snickerdoodle is butter, sugar, eggs, and flour, coated in sugar and cinnamon. Yum!
